If you’re suffering from chronic allergies, you might want to consider a bio-detoxification program
November 5th, 2012 by Dennis McInerney

Since June of 2004, I have made it a practice to do a detox program at least twice a year. One of the most positive side effects of detoxing I have experienced was that my chronic allergic reactions to airborne pollen, environment chemicals and mold, and certain foods would greatly subside or be completely eliminated within a week of starting my detox. So what is the link between detoxing and allergies?

In today’s world our bodies are overwhelmed by a great number of toxins found in the air, water, and food we eat. In addition to the toxins in our environment, there are endotoxins that are generated as a result of the dietary and lifestyle choices we make. Without elimination, these stored toxins may be slowly released into the blood, contributing to a wide range of chronic illnesses, including allergies.

In 2004 I was privileged to meet Dr. Abbas Qutab, a world renowned practitioner and lecturer in the area of Bio-Detoxification. Dr. Qutab uses a 3 step approach when detoxifying his patients. Step 1 addresses hidden food allergies by removing the common allergens (dairy, wheat, sugar, corn, soy, peanuts, etc.) from the diet. Step 2 addresses toxic overload, harmful bacteria, heavy metal toxicity, and leaky gut all of which can heighten an allergic response. Step 3 supports a life style change designed to keep us energized and allergy free.

It is not easy for individuals with busy stressful lives to consistently maintain a healthy lifestyle and make sound food choices. I have learned over the past 7 years that when I find myself reaching for antihistamines, bad habits have returned and it’s time to detox.
